Westfield API portal
Westfield API Portal home page
There was an update to the brand language and our API portal needed to reflect those changes. We updated various components of the pattern library such as color palette, and type scale. The presentation immediately felt lighter and more friendly. Though most of our users ran in engineering circles, part of our audience we had to please were the company's executives and stakeholders. So not only did it have to work right, it had to look snazzy too.
Project Goals
Create a portal to showcase our APIs
Allow registered users to interact and consume our APIs
Role and Responsibilities
Visual/UI Designer
Defined the design language for the Westfield API portal
Communicated with developers daily to ensure pixel perfect implementation
Held biweekly meetings during design approval processs
Outcome
I successfully applied Westfield's new digital style to our API portal. The portal, then hosted by Mashery, was challenging to implement due to template constraints on the host side. None the less, we were able to achieve success. Not only in representing our brand, but making it easy for users to access. The site has since then gotten a face-lift to reflect our updated brand guidelines.
